Transporter Code of Conduct
1. Purpose
This Code of Conduct establishes the standards that all Transporters must follow when providing passenger transportation services through the Platform. Our goal is to ensure safe, reliable, respectful, and professional transportation experiences for all passengers.
2. Legal and Regulatory Compliance
Transporters should:
- Hold all licenses, permits, registrations, and certifications required by applicable laws and regulations.
- Ensure that drivers possess valid and appropriate driving licenses and authorizations.
- Comply with all transportation, road safety, employment, and passenger service regulations.
- Maintain all legally required insurance coverage throughout their participation on the Platform.
3. Passenger Safety
Transporters should:
- Prioritize passenger safety at all times.
- Operate vehicles in a safe and lawful manner.
- Ensure vehicles are regularly maintained, inspected, clean, and roadworthy.
- Ensure seat belts and other required safety equipment are available and functional.
- Immediately report accidents, incidents, or emergencies affecting passenger safety.
4. Driver Conduct and Professionalism
Drivers and Transporters should:
- Treat passengers with courtesy, dignity, and respect.
- Provide professional and non-discriminatory service to all passengers.
- Maintain appropriate personal appearance and professional behavior.
- Refrain from abusive, threatening, harassing, or inappropriate conduct.
- Avoid the use of alcohol, illegal drugs, or any impairing substances while providing services.
5. Service Reliability
Transporters should:
- Honor confirmed bookings whenever reasonably possible.
- Arrive on time for scheduled pick-ups.
- Communicate promptly regarding delays, disruptions, or service changes.
- Provide accurate vehicle and driver information where required by the Platform.
- Deliver services according to the booking details agreed with passengers.
6. Passenger Rights and Respect
Transporters shall:
- Respect passenger privacy and personal information.
- Not discriminate based on race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, disability, gender, sexual orientation, age, or any other protected characteristic.
- Provide reasonable assistance to passengers with special needs where legally required and operationally feasible.
- Maintain a safe and welcoming environment for all passengers.
7. Vehicle Standards
Transporters must ensure that vehicles:
- Are clean, hygienic, and in good operating condition.
- Meet all applicable legal and safety requirements.
- Are appropriately insured and registered.
- Display required permits or identification where mandated by law.
- Have sufficient seating capacity for booked passengers.
8. Data Protection and Confidentiality
Transporters must:
- Use passenger information solely for providing transportation services.
- Protect confidential and personal information from unauthorized access or disclosure.
- Comply with applicable data protection and privacy laws.
- Not share passenger information with third parties without authorization or legal justification.
9. Prohibited Activities
Transporters and drivers must not:
- Operate without valid licenses, permits, or insurance.
- Falsify documents, qualifications, trip records, or passenger information.
- Solicit payments outside approved Platform processes where prohibited by Platform policies.
- Engage in fraud, corruption, or deceptive practices.
- Carry weapons, illegal substances, or prohibited items while providing services, except where legally authorized.
- Endanger passengers through reckless or unsafe driving.
10. Incident Reporting
Transporters must promptly report to the Platform:
- Accidents and safety incidents.
- Passenger complaints involving safety or misconduct.
- Criminal activity related to a booking.
- Vehicle breakdowns affecting service delivery.
- Regulatory investigations or actions that may affect service eligibility.
11. Compliance Monitoring
The Platform may monitor compliance through:
- Passenger feedback and ratings.
- Service quality reviews.
- Verification of licenses, permits, and insurance.
- Investigation of complaints and reported incidents.
12. Violations and Enforcement
Failure to comply with this Code may result in:
- Warnings or corrective action requirements.
- Temporary suspension from the Platform.
- Permanent removal from the Platform.
- Reporting to relevant authorities where required by law.
- Liability for damages resulting from violations.
13. Acceptance
By registering and accepting bookings through the Platform, the Transporter agrees to comply with this Code of Conduct and all applicable Platform policies.
14. Service to the General Public
Transporters acknowledge that services are provided to members of the general public and agree to maintain the highest standards of safety, professionalism, and customer care.
Transporters should:
- Provide services in a respectful, courteous, and professional manner.
- Promote a safe and welcoming environment for all passengers.
- Exercise reasonable care to protect passengers from harm during the provision of services.
- Respond appropriately to passenger concerns, complaints, and requests for assistance.
15. Safeguarding of Children and Vulnerable Persons
Transporters and drivers must:
- Take reasonable measures to protect children and vulnerable passengers from harm, abuse, harassment, exploitation, or neglect.
- Immediately report any serious safeguarding concerns to the appropriate authorities where required by law.
- Maintain professional boundaries with passengers at all times.
- Never engage in inappropriate, abusive, exploitative, or unlawful conduct toward any passenger.
- Comply with any safeguarding requirements, background screening, or training requirements established by the Platform or applicable law.
16. Accessibility and Non-Discrimination
Transporters shall make reasonable efforts to accommodate passengers with disabilities or reduced mobility, subject to vehicle capabilities and applicable laws.
Transporters and drivers must not refuse service, provide inferior service, or otherwise discriminate against passengers on the basis of:
- Race or ethnic origin;
- Nationality;
- Religion or belief;
- Disability;
- Gender;
- Age
17. Driver Fitness and Background Requirements
Transporters are responsible for ensuring that drivers:
- Are legally eligible to provide passenger transportation services.
- Meet all applicable regulatory and licensing requirements.
- Are physically and mentally fit to safely perform their duties.
- Have successfully completed any background checks, criminal record screenings, or vetting procedures required by law or by the Platform.
- Immediately cease providing services if their eligibility or fitness to drive is compromised.
